A sub 25 second 50 meter free is very impressive. The only US women who have gone sub 25 are Torres, Van Dyken, Joyce and Coughlin. not to mention it's early June.
That looks good in print but sometimes does not play out so well in life. Not everybody can have a comeback like she has. It's more than just sheer determination...there are physiological factors at play here as well.
Having said that, it is quite inspirational and as I have said before, quite an advertising option for USMS should she actually make the team.
Genetics, physiology and many other factors definitely come into play for all as we age. She does prove that it is POSSIBLE though!
