Hey everyone, my high school season ended in about mid may and since then i've been training using a combination of weights 3x a week in addition to running/plyometrics a total of 3x a week. My summer season just started and i've decided that my main focus is going to be hand speed and streamline in my breaststroke (which appear to be one of a few keys from what I have read on this website). My issue is that whenever I make a concerted effort to accelerate my hands over the water I become tired quickly (short of breath more than muscular fatigue). My other strokes are feeling about the same as they usually do (no real issues with muscular/respiratory fatigue). Could the shortness of breath be due in large part me introducing more hand acceleration and more underwater time or is it more likely due to a lack of swim training?
