Searched and couldn't find a reference to swimming while in a cast in the USMS fora. My daughter has a forearm cast covering her wrist which she got days before summer swim team practice started. She is really bummed, but we found a link here to the only cast cover that I have found that says it can be used while swimming:

(Edited:)
Also now have a referral to XeroSox which claim same as above, but include a small pump to create a vacuum:

Does anyone have any experience with this or other cast covers to tell whether or not they really work?
Should the cast be the "waterproof" fiberglass kind as well?

My son broke his wrist a few years ago and we got a XeroSox. It worked great. The ortopaedist wouldn't do a water proof cast. said they just didn't work. Sounded silly, but so be it. The Xero Sox was a blessing.
