Swiminfo.com has released a post saying that Amanda Beard will be on the cover of the July issue for Playboy.
How do you think this will effect her image among the swimming communties? Will any of us purchase this issue because of her?

As I alluded to earlier....even Disney gets in on the act...what used to be a haven of innocence now has stuff that gets me confused by it's message.
Don't even get me started on Disney! They are not the clean, family oriented, morally guided company they used to be. Money talks....
Of course it's her choice. And it's a lot of money to walk away from. Unfortunately, it does nothing to alter the message our society, through the media, is sending to our daughters. Not that she needs to be concerned about that.
No...she's not concerned. She is obviously cashing in on her celebrity status while she can. But, as the mother of 2 girls...I am very concerned. The funny thing is that both my daughters...without me saying anything... don't think real highly of Amanda. They have both called her a "skank" because of some of the choices she has made in the past. Maybe I'm old fashioned...but I think our Olympic athletes should be held to a higher standard.

I know this sounds really corny, but I'd buy it just to read what they say about her! And I agree that swimsuits are really a joke, they leave nothing to the imagination- really the only questions left unanswered are: how does one shave their naughty bits, and what color's the nip?!? :agree: :p And if that's what floats your boat (or anything else), whatever, to each their own.
