Swiminfo.com has released a post saying that Amanda Beard will be on the cover of the July issue for Playboy.
How do you think this will effect her image among the swimming communties? Will any of us purchase this issue because of her?

I don't understand, does she know great jokes or is she being interviewed?
I am the only female commenting so far, but I don't understand either. She's not even voluputous; she's rather thinny now. Is Playboy not doing the women with curves anymore? Admittedly, a great swimmer, but can she twist herself into a pretzel or something?
I am sure most of us on here will buy the issue for the articles and interviews inside. The fact that Amanda will be in the issue will only be a considence.:rofl: :banana: :D :groovy:

How is it a stretch that posing nude is a personal decision but what you eat isn't? Just trying to follow your logic from thread to thread.
As some people pointed out, we don't know what the photos inside will be like. They could easily go with the artistic nudes, where you don't see "anything". (Strategic arm placement, pull bouys, water waves,... fist gloves...)
Pretty much every "super-model" (and Victoria Secret's model) has been in Playboy, in one form or another. It could very well be that Amanda did "tasteful" sexy pictures with a world famous photographer, and that photographer went to Playboy instead of FHM or some other PG-13 magazine.
(Or she could have gone the full-monty. We'll find out soon enough.)

OK, banning trans fats is a public health issue. Someone posing in Playboy is not (unless you're worried about old guys having heart attacks from looking at the pix).

I know this sounds really corny, but I'd buy it just to read what they say about her! And I agree that swimsuits are really a joke, they leave nothing to the imagination- really the only questions left unanswered are: how does one shave their naughty bits, and what color's the nip?!? :agree: :p And if that's what floats your boat (or anything else), whatever, to each their own.
