Sadly, due to way too many physical setbacks and family illnesses the past 4 months, I am not going. :(
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO IS GOING!!!!!!
I'll be curious to see what the attendance is at this meet. It seems like lots of people who post here frequently are passing up on this year's meet, so we'll see. I'm sure the west coast contingent will be strong. It's been since 2003 that we've had a SC Nats on the left coast.

Ditto, Twin Draculina. :(

Glancing at the top times, it appears that there are a lot of great swimmers from the Pacific and Pacific Northwest LMSCs. At least the ones beating me seem to be from there. So presumably they'll all go. And the pool is supposed to be fabulous. Good luck! Hopefully, a lot of attaboys and attagirls can be given out to at least some forumites!
At least Austin is the middle of the country. Much more fair.
All I can say is that I entered.
I entered last year too, but my son had a Mother's Day tea at his school (Kindergarten). The whole tea cost me about $400! Lost airfare, etc. The killer was this tea cancelled my 4 day trip and it only took about 45 minutes!!! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't miss any of my kids important things for a swim meet, it was just a little frustrating that the teachers didn't give more of a heads up!
So, nothing on the horizon (that I'm aware of, so far). I'm hoping to go :)
Kudos for putting your kids first! That is a decision that you will never regret making.
No Nats for me this year. Shooting for Austin though.
Amen to that. You sound like an awesome mom Karen!:applaud: They grow up WAYYY too fast to miss any of those childhood moments. Even though it was short, I'm sure your son will always remember it. Those little things really do mean a lot to them! I'm amazed at things my girls remember! I know you had to be disappointed but, they'll be plenty of swim meets later on!.....LIKE AUSTIN!!!!

Exactly! I remember going to a Mother's Day tea at my daughter's preschool. There was one little girl with no mommy there. She cuddled with Gillian and me, but you could tell she was really sad. The little things mean a lot to them. I miss tons of meets for my kids' stuff. It's worth it! (Although I have to admit I'm missing a 6 & U soccer game tomorrow to go to zones. But there are loads more games and it may be rained out.) So .... Austin it is. :groovy:
Go Poolraat!
I'll be there. I have never been further west than Ft. Worth, TX. Should be an interesting trip and since my husbands aunt and uncle live there I will be visiting with them. Really looking forward to the trip.
I'll be there...though being local it doesn't seem like that big of a commitment.
I think all forum posters need to put their username on their backs so I (others) can figure out who are these pillars of the swimming community :)
