For those going to Colonies Zones

I'd love to meet you all. I've met Mollie and Jeff but there are so many more I haven't met. I'll make it easy for you all, I'll be wearing my Oregon stuff. Red Oregon cap and Oregon t-shirts (some might say Tualatin Hills Barracudas but with the Oregon map on the back). Most likely I will be sitting with the VMST team. I'm swimming on Sat only in the 500 free and 200 fly (could use some cheering for that one). So stop on by and say:wave: Alison
  • I will be wearing an Alcatraz t shirt. I will probably be with the Terps. Swimmy :)
  • For those still searching me out, ask Dana (IMSpoiled) - I'm hard not to miss :joker: She just randomly walked up to me and said "Hi, you must be Muppet."
  • I'm going to take Paul Smith's advice and wear a different fastskin for every single event to make sure they're really, really dry. No one will know me. Well, except the local folks. Hope you did well tonight guys!! :dedhorse: Barb: It's hot in there. You might want to arrive in sweatpants, but bring shorts. When I attend meets at GMU (as opposed to swimming there), I always dress on the skimpy side. Warning: Showers in the women's locker room are friggin cold.

I won't be swimming - I'll be videoing, photographing and cheering folks on. And I'll be wearing a beige camp shirt over either black short or black sweatpants.
  • How did everyone do this weekend? Muppet, skipping the 500 free must be mentioned here  I was pleased with my times. Took 2 sec off my 500 free and did a 2:42 on my 200 fly (first time doing it). I was glad to finally meet Fortress and Rich in person. Barb, sorry I missed you. See you all at the next meet. Alison

I looked for you at the meet and saw you at one point in the warm down pool, but never got a chance to say Hi. My meet was good. I had a great 1650...didn't break 19, but swam a smart race which was my main goal. I think I went out a little too fast though because my first 500 was only 1 second slower than I swam the 500 on Saturday. Then I went 5 seconds slower in my 200 free than my first 200 of the 1650 and 500. Good times :) Main lesson learned this weekend: Need to learn how to pace my races better. I woke up completely sick on Sunday morning so took it easy on the 200 free (see above) and then re-grouped BIG TIME for the 100 back and went 2.2 seconds faster than last year....1:05.03. I wanted a 1:03 or 1:04 but given the fact that I hadn't eaten anything all day and felt sick, I was SOOOO happy with that! Getting closer to college times every time I swim it!! I'm doing the swim in a half ironman this weekend. I was just itching to get in open water so I recruited some of Sister Golden Hair's triathletes to do a relay with me. Should be fun...water temp in Lake Anna (Fredericksburg, VA) was 53 last week! Hopefully next weekend will be warmer. Sister Golden will be doing the aquabike race (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike) so wish her luck!!! Fantastic meeting everyone and sharing so many laughs at dinner. Julie
  • Julie, great times, especially with being sick on Sunday. Good luck this weekend. My sister did a half Ironman there last Sept. Lake Anna is pretty. It was cold that day, too but warmed up nicely. Alison

Alison Sorry I missed you too. I was rushing back and forth in the spectator's gallery between the men's and women's races, glancing at heat sheets (and misreading them) as I went. (They would not pass out heat sheets to spectators; everyone had too look at the one copy posted on the back wall!) I watched Fort's and Mollie's races, 'tho I only managed to video one of Fort's correctly, and I watched all of Rich's, Muppets and Dave Barra's. Maybe we'll meet next time.

Barb, be glad you could see one on the wall. There were none when I checked-in and none posted on walls near where I was sitting. Luckily some of the people around me had opies but not all the pages. How did they let this happen and does anyone know who evaluates the host team, if at all? I know with OMS every meet is evaluated by 1 board member and one participant before reimbursement is voted on by the board. Not enough heat sheets and missing pages would be a major issue. Alison
