When I swim butterfly, a dull pain slowly develops on the inside of my shoulder blade on one side. It feels like something is being pinched. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

The best way to avoid pain is not swim butterfly.
But if you absolutely must, then do a search of these forums and Google for info. Rotator stregnth is a MUST if you want to have your arms in place for any length of time.
