Mini-taper

Anybody ever do what I'll call a "mini-taper"? Not a full taper, but resting a little bit. If so, what would it look like if you were say: lifting (3-4x/wk) and swimming (about 3,500 day x 4-5 days/wk)? Perhaps this is won for Ande! Just looking for opinions- How long would your mini-taper be? Would you stop lifting, or just cut back on wt. and/or reps. Thanks :drink:

    Rich, I think it has to be about a 3 week taper moving downward from 14 miles to about 6 miles (can't lose that conditioning). And I have seen what people look like at the end of a marathon swim and I can tell you, no one will be seeing Ursula on that beach in Utila; it will be a person crawling to shore with short grey hair :rofl:. and then refusing to swim back to the boat; will be asking for an airplane with a medic. donna
