Men's 800 Free Relay

Now by the time most of you read this the finals will be over but ... Keller had the slowest split, OBVIOUSLY Phelps (& I'm guessing Lochte) are a done deal ... Vanderkaay put up a 1:46.67 leading off followed by Jayme Cramer's 1:47.97, David Walters 1:47.75 & Keller's 1:48.60 ... Do you take a total rookie? Slightly more experience with Cramer, or a struggling but veteran Keller? Personally I say give the rookie a shot, who knows what he'll put up next year. My prediction: Phelps, Lochte, Vanderkaay, & Cramer I'd like to see ... Phelps, Lochte, Vanderkaay & Walters ...

  • It was surprising to see Hackett wasn't even participating in the relay. Sure, he's off his best right now, but not even a top 4 200m free swimmer for Australia?? PVH did not swim this for Holland either and they did not make the finals when usually they are in the finals. Remember how well they did in the 400 Free Relay in Athens in 2004. He like Hackett is off his best right now, but to leave a 1:45 man off your relay seems not to make any sense at all unless he is not feeling well from that injury he had last year.
