As I dropped off the kids this morning at Grandma's (who took me to meets almost EVERY weekend as a kid) I started ranting about the Worlds. She said, "Could you believe he was hitting her?" To which I replied, "Huh?" I was talking about the world records.
She didn't know details, but it made the news that a man was literally hitting a female swimmer, close-fisted. She was trying to defend herself and run away... not too much information, as all she saw was the trailer.
What the heck? Can someone fill me in?

Can we say co-dependent? (not in the nice way)
Perhaps she is at fault too, however, he is the parent and should be able to have a little more restraint. If the argument was that heated he should have been able to step away before it went that far... just my .02 (not hundredths, swimmers!)
Swimming doesn't need this kind of publicity. Perhaps the Ukraine is the Dallas Cowboys of swimming! :argue:
I agree. That evidence is flimsy. A family matter...she is still his daughter and was giving as good as she got.
Should he be stopped from coaching maybe so...but remember nobody will work you up like your own family.
I didn't see "punches" flying there like I expected.
