there's a little publicized study done at the Councilman Center where tongue piercings were tested. It was clearly shown that the facial turbulence during breathing is greatly reduced by the addition of a carefully placed tongue stud.
Note that you can also visit the tatoo parlor for some artistry that mimics the design of the newest Speedo Pro suits.
