I watched the race a few times on Fox. (Hubby had DVR'd it.) Amazingly fast, especially that third turn. Phelps destroyed VDH with his SDKs off the wall. He had a distinct lope in his stroke that I don't remember being as pronounced the last time I saw his swims televised. In our paper this am, Bowman and Phelps credit his speed and explosiveness to a "newfound dedication to weightlifting." Interesting. I also found it funny how he celebrated: "I took two ambien and passed out."
Fort....good "eye" by you!
Phelps did not "outswim" Hoogie....his (approximate) 7 SDK's off his start/turns made a major difference....
His stroke has also clearly changed.....higher elbows, more angled entry, more lope....
The "boy" has out on some muscle no doubt about that.....I think s(he) should be impressed!
