I don't know about this statement from the article, though:
Phelps now seems virtually assured of winning at least seven gold medals in Melbourne, which would set him up for another shot at Mark Spitz's Holy Grail of Olympic records, those seven gold medals in 1972 at Munich.
There's still a long time until the Olympics and you never know who is going to improve and by how much until then. That said, I think we will have some fantastic races to watch in Beijing!
