If the swim is done LEGALLY, then I would cheer and be as excited as all get out to see a world record swim, regardless of what swimmer or what country did the preformance.
I agree that swimming is a different mindset, we do appreciate great swims, done legally.
We can certainly be disappointed if the country/swimmer we love to cheer for doesn't preform as well as we hope they can, but that doesn't mean we have to get pissed off that another swimmer/country had an awesome race. We should enjoy all outstanding preformances.
