Informal Breaststroke Clinic at Nationals

You asked for it. I just got the OK to have an"informal" breaststroke clinic at Federal Way. It will be Saturday immediately after the Medley Relay(during the women's 500 free.) We have one lane in the instruction pool(not the diving well.) I thought who ever wanted to could show up and I'd help with your stroke. I'd love for some of the younger super breaststrokers to come and help too(Jeff, this means you,you too Jon,Jim your not younger but you'd be really welcome too, heck you too Peter,I hope I haven't insulted anyone by not asking them,Oh great I don't have any women listed ,sorry just come) See Y'all there.(By the way I'm at the Oregon coast for the week, which is great, but I have limited internet access.)
  • Fort, lacking a tan is no excuse. It's the Pacific Northwest. What did the Oregonian say to the Pilsbury Doughboy? "Nice tan." I didn't realize people in Oregon conversed with Paul Smith. ;) Sigh. I am scheduled to get another 30 jabs the week before Nats on my prolo schedule. (The upcoming 2nd set is the day after zones.) It takes about a week to feel even remotely normal. So I guess I'll be working away on my tan while you're tearing muscles from excessive sprinting at Nats. :thhbbb: Are you swimming still, just more slowly after the last PT visit?
  • Sounds good. I hope to see you there. Fritz alerted me to this post. I look forward to learning others' approaches to this most sublime of the competitive swimming strokes! Sorry if I've put the post back on track... JB
  • Oh sure Allen, go ahead and overstress the injury, maybe you can keep it tender until we finally face off at 50brst again. (maybe Fall?) Allen: Do you notice how Peter is always telling us natural sprinters to go very ssssllloooowwww? He has a secret plan to turn us into distance freestylers and can't imagine how distasteful it is to us. I would love to come to your clinic! It's just a bit far to go given my current status. Besides, I have a grude race on with Paul Smith in the 50 fly for the likes of us who are out of shape, untapered, injured and lacking a tan. Jon: I saw you swim at the Albatross meet. You did great! Wally told me on Tuesday night that he was looking at the record from a different age group and he actually missed the WR in the 50 by .02. He is undeterred though and doesn't want to age up until he gets it.
