I'm engaged to marry the 400 IM!

So I'm not in love with the 1000 free, so it broke my heart. The 400 IM made it all up to me. I love the 400 IM. It's everything a swim race should be: not boring, not feeling like cement bags are hanging off every muscle fiber, but strong and fierce. Even though truly I am not especially fast, today's race was so much fun and felt really good. This, to me, is what masters swimming and racing are all about. Working hard and actually having a good swim! Actually having fun while swimming in a race! What a concept! Now I just gotta work hard on my pacing for that other heart breaker, the 1000, which actually is my "better" event, so I'll have so many swim-event boyfriends I will blaze away the water. Feeling good.

feeling good is good enough. i think IM's are really cool as well, especially the 400. did one in practice the other day for the 1st time in a while. nice to know i still got it. IMHO if it don't make you feel good it ain't worth it.

Feeling good. Congratulations on your good swim Isobel! And the 1000 free is also a favorite eh? Those events actually sound a bit scarey to me though LOL! Well its nice to know that there are those that love that event. Personally, I divorced the 400 IM after my freshman year in college and never looked back. I have, however, been busy lately trying to court the 100 IM instead. Newmastersswimmer
