Guess who has gone pro

Hayley Peirsol (not surprising since she was a senior), Whitney Myers (again a senior), and Jessica Hardy - that one surprised me. Best of luck to them.

I seem to recall that some high-performance coaches seemed to feel that the whole NCAA swim setup could detract from their swimmers ultimate aim i.e. prep for Olympics by concentrating on yards rather than meters. Any thoughts anyone on whether (besides the money) this plays a role in turning pro? Also, do next NCAA's go metric for Olympic year? Yes, unless they change it before next year. The NCAA championships at the D1 level are in short course meters, during Olympic years.
