I didn't want to thread jack Isobel's 1000 yard thread. But her thread got me thinking about what Base you train at, ie 1:30, 1:20...
At the risk of sounding stupid, I assume that the base is just the typical interval at which you do repeat 100's at, right?
So bare with me here as I have a few other potentially dumb questions.
How do you determine what your base should be?
How is that applied to sets other than 10 X 100 free?
How does training with a faster base affect training for shorter events (50, 100 & 200)?
Is it always a good idea to drop your base if you can make it?
