Starts: How do you do this + video.

My start is relatively flat (I don't do a belly smack or anything like that), it just needs some work - was wondering how does one accomplish a start like this (it's easier for me to have someone describe what to do with my body rather than actually see it done)... www.youtube.com/watch I'd like to add that fast "arching of the back" into my start. Thanks!

One thing I realized when practicing starts, it takes alot of leg muscle. I started doing really deep knee bends when I brush my teeth every morning to help build my legs ups, I figure that's a good time for me to multitask. I do them slow like going down like I'm going to sit. I think the stronger your legs the more you can throw your self off the blocks. I'll also I think I notice that I don't just bring my arms out like in the video. I think I tend to grab the block then I push off I bend my elbows to then throw them forward. I think I've seen Micheal Phleps do this type of start - I could be wrong though. I'm going have my DD video tape my starts this week so I can see them and work on them. You might want to try doing that see, what you do can really help. I tried doing both grab and track starts, I do like the track start better, I feel more stable.
