Creatine - anyone using it to enhance their meet performance?

Just wondering. We have a little debate in our club if it is effective or not for swimmers. I know 100 - 200 m athlete sprinters use it frequently, so it might be interesting for at least 50 m distances in the pool.
Comments anyone?

Just because a substance is "natural" does not guarantee its safety in large doses (eg water intoxication). Likewise, naturally occurring substances can be banned for their performance enhancing properties (eg testosterone).

For example, Eating naturally grown mushrooms out in the wild might kill you if you pick the wrong ones. Just something I was told once way back when.
