Ok so I miss the NY Aqua fit spring Fling b/c of stomach virus at the weekend. I sneeze and threw out my back yeserday morning and now am staring NEM or more accurately NO-NEM in the face. I'm gonna be a bad tempered breaststroker if I can't make it to NEM. Whine, whine, whine, whine, I agreed to sore knees, sore shoulder, manky ear, brittle hair, cold water induced atrophy, blocked bugle, stinking like clorox, and looking comical doing fly. Why I gotta have lower back issues too? :'(

It's Easter and our Jellyfish time. I was swimming today and saw them, they have arrived so had to cut my swim short. EECK-it was the brown thumbnails, they always come first followed by a round of clear jellies with long tentacles and then the dreaded Sea Lice. Those are the worse because they are so tiny, they look like splinters of wood in the water but get in your swimsuit and sting the H**** out of you. So now I have a distance interruption (and I will also have this next year), so back to my friend Pam's pool. But it is only 33 yds long but I suppose better than being drydocked!! So I guess a thousand turns are coming up, but at least she has a bar/restaurant right there by the pool :applaud: donna

Hopefully the jellyfish will be a somewhat temporary ordeal? Newmastersswimmer

  • She had hurt her back days earlier and spent 4 hour in the ER and no one saw her. It was clogged with non-insurance, illegal aliens and prisoner, and folks looking for free care. I couldn't see reason to go there when I could just as easily and more comfortably die at home. Politics is not appropriate for this forum, and that comment is totally unneccessary.

Bill I had something like this a week beofre a meet. I dropped lbs and it wasn't good lol...seems I've kept the weight off though and am back to good strength :) Thanx, SS. If something good comes from this, I will be amazed. My wife kept asking me if I thought I was going to die. Then when she really got worried, she'd ask, "Do you want to die or for me to get you to the doctor?" She had hurt her back days earlier and spent 4 hour in the ER and no one saw her. I apologize. I am still not hitting on all cylinders and a little testy. But the comment about the prisons and the fight that broke out with cops and drawn guns (I left that part out) is a fact that was part of the reason I didn't feel like going to the ER. Sorry, it won't happen again.

I just spent Easter weekend, wrapped in blankets and shivering. I think it was food poisoning from a fruit stand (damn trying to eat healthily). Yes, I washed it, but that is all I can think that caused it. My wife and daughter are fine and that's about all I had that would explain it. I lost 8 pound from Friday morning to Saturday morning, gained back a half a pound by Sunday morning and made it to church. Then it hit me again and I lost another 4 yesterday to this morning. I finally feel much better, but it felt like malaria. I'll have to take the next few days easy until I can train again. I have no food reserves left to exercise on.:dedhorse: That's me on the ground!

  • Thanks. Plan on leaving work within the hour. Crashing on the train. Skipping practice tonight (lets call it the taper I wasn't doing for zones) and eating chocolate Easter bunnies. I see bad daytime tv in my immediate future. Rest up! I just visited my doctor who thinks I'm insane to swim this weekend and says I have a sinus infection and asthmatic bronchitis. Now I have more drugs. It's that ole sickness taper. Since my kids are all about to burst through the door, I see no afternoon snoozing. I see American Idol, House and Boston Legal in my future this evening. Plus, I refuse to actually cook dinner. Rich: I look forward to seeing that scratched up nose and windmill start. :thhbbb:

Take care of yourself. No wonder you couldn't breathe! Don't worry about your breathing pattern on the 100 free.....just breathe as needed and take a shot of your bronchodillator right before you swim!
