Swimming as a calorie burner?

Does swimming burn as many calories as other sports? Unless you're putting in some real yardage, it doesn't seem like it does to me. I was chatting with some tri teammates awhile ago. They think they're slimmer when they're doing multiple sports and not just swimming. Me too, I think. Anyone else have thoughts on this? I guess I should be lifting weights ... Thanks in advance. :)

  • I enjoy burning calories in many different ways. Sleeping is close to the top of my list. I have always considered sleeping an art form. I enjoy sleeping. Miles Miles: How true! I love sleeping too. Of course, I do wish I could do more of it. I used to be much more talented at it. Now, the hormones and kids and whatnot interfere. I do think Jim has a point up there about the calorie burning component of sleeping. Glad you're keeping the waters so unexpectedly calm, StillWater. ;)
