what are the pros and cons of wearing a swimming cap?

Pros: Hair stays out of the eyes & it doesn't feel like swimming with a wet mop on top of the head. Also, at my pool, it prevents premature hair loss (our pool is always high on the chemicals).
Cons: the "cap tan" line just below the hair line when swimming outdoors.
