  • Maybe because of the letter that Brian posted here and maybe because the VAST MAJORITY of the former Stanford swimmers seem to support Skip. Maybe because the "problem" was being dealt with internally and it really wasn't necessary to run to Mommy who then ran to the Chronicle. Seems like Skip may have not been the only one with the "error in judgement". Not sure these were equal "errors in judgment." Kenney committed his error in the media's eye, and it's not a travesty if he is called out in the media. Besides, what he did was punitive and childish. The fact that he has a fantastic coaching record and devoted fans does not mean he should somehow escape the fallout of his error or that it should be hushed up. Now that others are rushing to defend him, the fallout may not be nearly so dire anyway. I don't feel sorry for him. If Michael Phelps can take it, I'm sure Kenney can. It sounds like it will be yesterday's news soon anyway. And even if the kid was a "problem," he's entitled to take a summer internship without censure. Life goes on after college as we all know.
