Front Quad/Patient Catch question

Not sure what the exact terminology is but I was swimming Front Crawl last night and for a bit I worked on patient catch. Is there a feeling of almost hitting a brief "superman" pose in the water. I didn't try to go faster but it felt that I was moving faster and stronger and this was on my last 1/4 mile.

I’m not sure what you mean by patient catch, but if you are in a superman pose, then your head is likely too high. I was just trying to do like the article in the magazine. I was facing down looking at the bottom of the pool leaving my extended arm out until just before the recovering arm comes over and enters...the extended would then starting the pull. If viewed from the side I guess the body would appear sort of like a "Y" on it's side. I'm just curious as it felt very comfortable and easy yet I fel that I was moving very well--crawl is not a tidy or strong stroke over distance for me.
