Did my first time trails.
I was scared and jittery, but did okay - did a 50 back ( for a relay) I think I did about a .36 -hard to tell, had to get to the ladder before the other swimmer came back. No way can I pull myself out of the pool.
My 50 free was a few 10ths, off from Dec's time of 30.24 - today it was 30.74
But I did take the plunge for the 100 free I'm happy 1:10 - I've been doing about a 1:15 at the Y from a push off.
Over all happy- I know I've had problems getting to the pool and getting good work outs.
The past couple months, so I didn't feel too confident.
But our HS Coach is great I can come any time and work out and I can even work out with the HS team. I may try that... I have 6 weeks until a small USA meet here in town.
I sent off for my USA license to swim... so I'm legal.
I have noticed something since getting back..... man do they seam to just - get on the blocks and go.... no thinking time. It's like one master swimming I met today said -
us masters like to get on the block and think about it for a 10 mins, then go... I was like yeah!! - I want to think first, I guess I'll have to get used to that. - So it is true when your a kid you don't think - you just go...LOL.
Great times! I agree... sounds you're in racing country! And if you're able to work out w/ a high school team, you're absolutely a strong swimmer! That must be an experience!
