i have been reading a lot of the posts herein.... and it has occurred to me... (and this will surely betray my newbie-ness) there are an awful lot of abbreviations and terms used that leave me essentially having no clue what was said.... is there a book out there someplace "swimese for dummies" or the like? i speak several languages, sadly swimese is not yet among them.....
i can swim two miles comfortably, and have energy left over after to go run three miles... but decode the posts on this board?....
any reference/resource suggestions gladly accepted...
thanks.

jim

Thanx Fort, I thought it was some sort of goofing off or playing around.
Noodling. And SS was calling me Pandora ... Lots of discussion on noodling here. Noodlers or poodlers are the non-swimmers hanging on the noodles in the pool and getting in the way of people who are actually trying to engage in cardiovascular exercise by swimming.

Can someone explain "Noodling". All sorts of activities come to mind.
;)

Dana:  I'm sorry but this seems funny to me. Come up with an acronym for your accident.
Sandy the Swim Stud: No, not the coral reef no bathing suit story!!! Some idiot put me in a relay and made me swim breastroke (and I am not one of those, never, ever), and I was doing dolphin kick with it. They stopped me at the wall and handed me a piece of paper and made me get out. And this was at one of my Alma Maters: Santa Clara LC Swim Meet!!! I kept telling them I didn't swim breaststroke, didn't believe me until right then. Dang, big time embarrassment, but the girl that was going to do the fly on our relay was thankful because she said she didn't swim fly either, at least not a hundred meters of it!!! Comedy of errors!!! I think I may be more well known for all of my mistakes than records!!
By the powers vested in me as "you fill in the blank", I hereby officially exonerate you from all responsibility for this relay mishap Donna....As a fellow breaststroke hater, I think I speak for all non-breaststrokers a like when I say this. Clearly the idiot (probably some British breaststroker I'll bet) who put you in the relay swimming breaststroke is the one who deserves all of the blame!

Alright you guys...put up or shut-up. Holy Spitz! If I can do Bugfly and IM at a meet..you can all attempt the divine...and swim how the Goodhew intended.
If you call yourself a swimmer, you can do a little of all the strokes, for
Wilkie's sake !

And....since I am a nice guy (stop laughing Rich!), I will even swim a breaststroke race with you too so that you can destroy me in it and have eternal bragging rights on this forum....there..is that better now Richie boy old chap?
