Attending someone else's State Meet

Is it considered bad manners to go to an out of state, state meet? I don't mean the regular season meet, but the final state meet. Just curious.

  • This is the "state" championship meet for anyone in Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, or Rhode Island. There are a healthy number of people attending for other states and LMSCs like NY, CT, Missouri Valley, Pacific Northwest, etc. We get a large number of people especially from the Metropolitan LMSC (NYC), from teams such as Red Tide, NYC Hydras and Dutchess County Masters. Those three teams have a combined 87 swimmers in the meet... over 10%. Connecticut is separate in Masters probably because it's been separate in USA Swimming. Why, I don't know. In USA Swimming, Maine is a separate LSC, but in Masters, Maine is part of the New England LMSC. -Rick
