I will be away on business this weekend - and was wondering if any of you guys had ever done somewhat of a practice in a hotel pool. I may have some time to myself over the weekend - and I'd like to jump in the water.
If you have done this... what kind of practice do you do?
If this is a dumb idea... should I just go to the exercise room and forget about the pool?
Thanks!
Sarah

I travel a lot for work and most times I am able to find a place to swim, but sometimes I don't have a rental car and there isn't a pool within a reasonable walk or cab ride. I've managed a few workouts in 20 yard pools, and definitely try to take advantage of any opportunities to get in the water, but some hotel pools are just not made for lap swimming. All of the ideas proposed already in this thread are great and definitely worth trying!
When I do have a rental car or can walk, I try to find a local masters team to swim with. Last week in Omaha, NE, I found a wonderful team and was able to swim early before heading to my work meetings. Check the usms site for teams- http://www.usms.org/lmsc/ I've gotten to know this page pretty well!
