Swimming at a hotel pool?!

I will be away on business this weekend - and was wondering if any of you guys had ever done somewhat of a practice in a hotel pool. I may have some time to myself over the weekend - and I'd like to jump in the water. If you have done this... what kind of practice do you do? If this is a dumb idea... should I just go to the exercise room and forget about the pool? Thanks! Sarah

Corporal Sarah, If you have a stretchchord, you can bring that and tie it to something and just swim against it the whole time if the pool is long enough. Other things you can do are work on turns - hold onto the wall, kick, blow bubbles for 10sec, then let go, flip and streamline until you glide into the opposite wall. My recommendation is to get on the USMS Places to Swim site and find a legit place to swim. Any hotel pool will be 10-15 yards MAX, so you really can't do much. Find something that is close to your hotel or near public transportation. You can do some sightseeing on your way - kill two birds with one stone. Where art thou going? Perhaps someone here on the boards is nearby and can hook you up. Over and Out! PFC Muppet
