I thought I'd try an experiment here. I propose that anyone of any swimming level can use this thread (or not) when, whether in a small way or earthshaking manner you've done something in the pool that you're proud and/or pleased by. Anyone is welcome to add encouraging comments (or not) or ask for more info., but please no grandstanding or feuding. Okay- I'll go first (and I'm just as hesitant as anyone else). Context: last few months hellish: collapse of my dream business, death in family, huge money troubles etc. result months out of water & exercise & 30lb gain. Further, I just went back over the last 10 yrs, averaged 1 meet a year, no more than 4 months training in any one year. So- been back in water 4 weeks, 2-3 times a week and mostly feeling like chopped liver. Monday night coach say we're going to do dive 25's (meters) from blocks, starter's instructions. Now I haven't done this in years 'cause I have a very bad neck- but I've been frustrated so...did all 3 breastroke 16.3, 15.5, 16.2 which tells me I've still got prospects to go fast again! I am pleased.

Attaboys & girls to all have been passed along, but I gotta add my congrats as well! Finally feeling a bit better today, thanks to some rocking PB swims on Sun at zones. Fort mentioned the 100 back, but I was really more excited about breaking through the 29 sec barrier for the first time in the 50 free. Swam through in relays, but never in a flat race. Hit a 28.9 in the last event. Whew! (Of course, this was upstaged by Fort swimming her blazing 25 in the same lane 2 heats later! Way to go Fort!) Forumites are blazing fast:notworthy: :notworthy: ! Also, a great big attaboy to Stud for not beating the puss out of his team mates after the 200 ***! Muppet & Mollie get the award for best cheerleaders. I saw them all over the pool cheering on other swimmers. And Muppet, really, with all the talk about you hair how could I not spot you right away? Dinner was loads of fun. Let's make it an annual event! Well it was our first trip out together as team mates and it gave us all a laugh....I thought it was only 150 but I wasn't 100% sure. I should have turned and gone off again...someone would have yelled you're finished. I still got under 3 and will be amped for my next meet now! Besides the guy on my team got me to set the race up in my mind properly before I went into the water so that outweighs the confusion. It's my job to count..at leat to 8 lengths. I guess next year I can expect a crowd counting 2, 4 and 6 as I touch back after each 50 LMAO Dana, you're so right about "Muppellie" (they're like the USMS version of Brangelina) they were awesome for me. Hearing them yell out for me as I got up for my first race was awesome! Looks like we should go head to head in the 50 Fr there Dana too. I nearly broke 29...maybe we can circle swim? You'll swim fast to escape and I'll be trying to catch up ;)
