I'm going to be attending the Maryland Masters Winter Meet next weekend and its going to be my first masters meet. I'm swimming 50 free, 100 free, 50breast, 100 breat, 50 fly, 100 fly. I'm not sure how im going to do but Im hoping for a few top times and I really want to get a masters top 10 time. I'm also going to try to posible get some virginia LMSC records for the 18-24 divison. The record for the 50 free is 21.45, for the 100 free its 49.89, and for 50 fly its 24.71. My top times are 21.83, 50.00, 24.59. So I got a chance at thoes records.
I have a few questions about the meet since its my first time. Do I need to check in when i get there? How are the heats set up, is it base purly off of times or do they group the agegroups together in the same heat?

I'm not going anymore because id have to drive a total of 415 miles. Its too much of a hassel and I got alot of stuff going on with school. But hey, I got like 50 more years of masters meets left.

Sorry to hear about that Warren b/c you sounded pretty pumped about going....BUT as you said you will have plenty of more opportunities to swim in many many more masters meets down the road. Maybe I will run into you at SCY Nats in Austin 2008? I wish you the best of luck as you are starting your long and fruitful masters career!

Bummer - I was looking forward to meeting and racing you this weekend. I can certainly understand how schoolwork can creep up on you; but like you said, plenty of meets left! Where are you in school? Do they have a club team?

Sorry to hear you won't be swimming. I have similar issues here in Illinois where most meets are 200 to 300 mi round trip affairs from the center of the state.
Hope you find a closer meet soon that fits your schedule. Whatever you do, make sure you get one in soon, and don't lose your "masters momentum!"
Yup I'm still coming:-D It's a 5hour drive both ways...so my mom and I are driving up tomorrow night and spending the weekend in some classy hotel...doing some shopping in the harbor district when we're not at the pool. Should be completly swank.
