A quick question for the knowledgeable readers out there. This NYT magazine called Play recently contacted me about writing a piece for a section they call "Master Class" -- they want me to go someplace warm and get some swimming instruction of some sort.
I know that USMS used to have some kind of program where masters swimmers could apply to go out to Colorado Springs for intensive coaching, stroke analysis in the ICAR flume, etc. Is this still going on, do any of you know, and would it be possible to just do a "lite" version of this (a day or two; bypass the application process; not actually need to be an elite swimmer; etc.)
The other possibilities would be one of Terry's TI camps (though, God help me, front quadrant swimming really hurts my shoulders, and I feel this dog is just too old to learn that particular new trick).
Or--and this might be my favorite of all--didn't Gary Hall, Jr. start some sort of Sprint Club training camp down in Key West or the Bahamas or some similar place that would prove the perfect antidote to Pittsburgh this time of the year, especially if I don't have to pay for it?
Please let me know the details of any such possibiities--the editor did specify he'd prefer me to go someplace "warm and outdoors-y." Which makes two of us.

No issues with Jim, I was just pointing out that his comment did not belong in this forum. Since then, an attempt was made to compare a previous comment of mine to the comment in question made by Jim. As an argumentative male I had no choice to but fire off a counterattack.
Rich,
I haven't said a word about anything here o.k. I made a comment about bossy women and thats all. Jim Mystek warned not to reply to postings you find offensive and I never did....I just reported it to the mods like Jim said so ....so lets get that straigt o.k. But yeah, I don't like the fighting thing either....thats why I'm sticking with Mr. Mystek's suggestions here.

You are kinda argumentative. Are you sure you're not a lawyer too? LOL.
Trying to decide on lunch. Should I have a tuna sandwich or chicken salad?
My eyes are actually just blue ... and dry.
Funny thing...many of my friends in high school suggested that I pursue such a career path. I now get plenty of lawyer speak around me since my mother in law is an attorney and my brother in law and his girlfriend are currently in law school at McGeorge.
As someone who has never made a sexual innuendo on this forum, I think certain folks should take Beth's advice and BEHAVE. Go back to work. Eat chicken salad.
It seems clear that Geek is after The Fortress and Matt has some kind of issue with Jim or joksters. I think just plain vanilla nice is better at this juncture. And FlyQueen is right. Chill pill needed. This is just a discussion forum. The rules are right there. Back to work. And lunch.
Heather- in my future you were sad until you realized that Jim was just an insignificant breastroker and not to be worried about so you were able to concentrate upon chewing nails and ignoring goats that Cruise paraded past from previous times he had got yours. Again.
Fort, there is NOTHING wrong with being a drop dead sprinter ... but obviously you've got some engine building to do ... ;)
Peanutbutter powerbar (sweet and salty) for breakfast ...
FlyQueen, there is NOTHING wrong with engine building ... but I think I've got some vessel shaping to do ... ;)
I've had a lot of PMs lately, but no worries, I AM AGAINST PUBLICATION.
Grapefruit with the waffles ...

More engine building.
