Nationals Party...It's gonna be awesome!

Seeing as Nationals are fast approaching (eek!), I thought I'd post this now to give time for debate, planning, and change to make sure we can see some action. ;) Here's what I was thinking: There's a Red Robin (though there are plenty of other choices also) fairly close to the pool (by the mall...about 5 milesish..maybe). I would LOVE to meet everybody from these forums so I was thinking Friday or Saturday night we should have a little dinner and drinks soiree. The formally organized USMS social is Saturday night. So...that's my thought. Let's hash out some details and make it happen!! :drink: :groovy: :woot:
  • Hi Sis! I have had to sadly accept that I will not make it to Nationals this year! :shakeshead: I swam yesterday and realized how VERY OUT OF SHAPE I am! I only swam 2600...and most with fins...and I was wiped out last night. Plus the moula for a flight to Washington is out of the question. I have one child in college and have to buy a car soon for my 15...soon to be 16...year old! I hope I can go to long course Nationals this summer. I definitely plan on going to short course next year!! I'll be with you in spirit though! I'm not real sure I'm in much better shape than you twin ... That's why no reservations yet. Still pretty fin addicted. Practice times aren't too bad, but I'm a little achey breaky. :frustrated: Off to ART in a minute. I can't go to LC Nats, so I can't meet you there either. :( It's during my daughter's eastern zones meet this summer. She missed it last year to go to Worlds with me, so now it's my turn to miss. Washington is far, far away. (And Florida ain't that close to DC, Kristilynn!) Aren't kids expensive? I just had to purchase a new fastskin, goggles, workout suit, crocs, etc. At least she's almost my size now ... I would say "quit growing," but I'm hoping she won't be a short sprinter like me.

Acutally the Welsh great people. Very good humoured. I am sure they have a few jibes to toss back at the Sais (English).

Hehe, no "Welsh," Rich... just want one for no reason really. I raised sheep (and pigs and calves) for projects in 4-H and FFA in high school. Sheep are stupid, smelly, and a lot of work. You wouldn't want one for very long. But they are tasty.:agree:

Hehe, nice! I do agree they are stupid animals. One of the first videos I downloaded from the internet years ago (back when 56k dialip was all the rage) is of these sheep, running down some small corral hallway. There is this beam, I guess to hold up some of the fencing, about 3 feet off the ground in the picture. Three sheep sprint down the hallway. A Fourth runs and leaps right into the beam. What he is jumping for is anyone's guess... Hilarious. I just watched it again the last couple days ago. Hilarious :dedhorse: they probably think the same of us all getting in our cars and forming long lines on the higiway... We had 2 sheep in our backyard for a few weeks during summer when I was a kid. They were fun to chase. They let you get within a few feet then run, well pogo away. This just made it all the more fun. Sadly we gave them back to their owner, who a few weeks later brought them back, well only part of them, a leg or something. My mother declined. The sheep never made it to nationals!

This is the most outrageous egregious nefarious horrific example of thread hijacking I have ever seen. OK re-read it!
  • Oh I guess "big Jim" had everything to do with that then eh?? I thought it was smiling..albeit a sheepish grin! Ba-doomp! Thank you...thank you. I'll be here all week! Really, you have to stay all week!?!?! Call it an early weekend and take off ... ;) :thhbbb: :smooch:

Really, you have to stay all week!?!?! Call it an early weekend and take off ... ;) :thhbbb: :smooch: Sure, where we going? :woot:
  • Yes. :p (I just typed yes, to bar and restaurant, and I got a message saying that my message is too short! What's up with that?) My husband would kill to get that kind of response from me, short that is! :D
  • My roommate said that Buca de Beppo is around there somewhere? But is that a drinking establishment, or just a restaurant? Red Robin is good for me. Anybody think it will be REALLY crowded though? If I'm going to meet y'all I'd like to be able to actually hear you :) PS- I hide well behind computer screens. I'm actually pretty shy until I feel comfortable. Once I get comfy though, and alcohol is involved, I'm more on the outgoing side (see note about naked bachelorette party on other thread- lots of alchohol!) I won't drink too much at Nationals though. It would defeat the purpose of going I think. I need to have a decent meet, I literally haven't had a "good" meet since 1999! That's a LOOOOOONG drought :p PPS- Will the ladies be wearing make-up? Let me know now, so I can find it!
