Seeing as Nationals are fast approaching (eek!), I thought I'd post this now to give time for debate, planning, and change to make sure we can see some action. ;)
Here's what I was thinking:
There's a Red Robin (though there are plenty of other choices also) fairly close to the pool (by the mall...about 5 milesish..maybe). I would LOVE to meet everybody from these forums so I was thinking Friday or Saturday night we should have a little dinner and drinks soiree. The formally organized USMS social is Saturday night.
So...that's my thought. Let's hash out some details and make it happen!!
:drink: :groovy: :woot:
Count me in. I'm always ready for a party.
Too bad Rich.:thhbbb: But next year in Austin could be a fun one too.:woot:

I'm on the fence. I have been given clearance to ditch all the rugrats and go -- it's probably worth it just for a rugrat vacation. I'd like to meet all the posters attending and celebrate your 21st!! :drink: I just don't want to be a shoulder ogre. I'm working on it. I guess I have to bite the bullet soon and decide ... Must resist the urge to engine build ... Must resist too much fly ... Must do my RC exercises even though I am sick to death of them ... I guess if Allen can work on his shoulder, I can work on mine. Is it a deal, Allen?
On an upbeat note, the order of events doesn't look overly horrific and it's supposed to be a blazing fast pool. Just have to skip that 200 IM right before the 50 fly and that 200 fly right before the 50 back ... No problem. (Wouldn't want to be a pure back/free specialist though. Everything looks back to back.)
I wish it was Austin this year instead of Seattle. Seattle's so far, far away ... And I think my baby sister FlyQueen and Jim-Bork Man promised to come to Austin. (Ande obviously has no excuse.) I'm worried my twin sister Beth won't be ready in time? :(
Has anyone been to an organized USMS soiree? Any fun?
Kyra, if you make it to 1,000 posts tonight, that will be a postive factor in my decision. Are you going to swim the 200 *** hungover on Sat.? That might be a positive factor too. Just J/K-ing of course like Mr. Jim-Bo.
We used to go to that Red Robin after meets all of the time. Wow, this brings back memories. Although I'm only an occasional poster, I read about you guys all the time, and it would be nice to meet you in person.
And for those of you whining about flying across the country... I've made the trek to Florida for two years in a row. Now it's your turn to go into debt for the sake of swimming!
I wish I could go:-(. Convincing the mom to let me go would be hard...too much traveling with our animals in the upcoming months...no money to fly all the way across the country
Animals!? Do you have any sheep?
For some reason, the last 3 weeks, I am on this sheep fix. I really want a pet sheep.

Dammit your 21st comes 1 year too early for me...but hey next year you'll hve 12 months drinking experience under you belt... :D
Drunken 25 BR relay?
Drunken 25 BR relay?
Heck Yes!! I'm so there!
And while this party isn't actually for my birthday I will accept presents if anyone feels so inclined.
Kyra- about to have your 1,000th post. Must be deeply profound and profoundly deep. And funny. Work on it.
I didn't notice that! I'm gonna have to start working on an amazing poem.....

Florida is a pretty long trek for me for a swim meet...we drive all over the place for animal shows...including the 28hour drive to Texas from NY this fall and next year to Michigan...but...lets bring Nationals to the East Coast:-D so I can have a chance of getting there.
But I do understand that they need to move the meet around to be fair...which is exactly why we had to drive out to Texas this past year....it's all good...I just wish I had a way to get there.
