I was just curious to what other swimmers think about getting in the hot tub for a couple minutes before practice. I swim everyday but Sundays are my really easy days. I did some hard workouts this week so I was pretty tired today when I went to swim. Before getting in the water I decided to hop in the jacuzzi for a few minutes, which I've never done before practice. I only did 2,000 but I felt really relaxed and in control of my stroke. I was easily taking 12 strokes per 25 (scy) instead of 13-14 which I normally take. I've never heard anything good or bad about so that's why I'm asking.

There are some people in my masters group that like to do this before every workout. My personal feeling is that when I'm getting ready to do a pretty hard workout the hot tub relaxes me too much and I tend to feel lethargic during the main set. I prefer to stretch instead and hot tub after workout. However, for a technique workout I could see how being more relaxed would be beneficial. But, like I said, I know people that enjoy the pre-workout hot tub.
