Whining - Comparing Aches and Pains

I propose a thread honoring old age in which each person lists their current physical ailments and general excuses that prevent them from beating people like Paul Smith and Rich Saeger. I will lead with a growing list of my own. 1. Shoulder pain 2. Heart palpatations 3. High cholesterol 4. Left hip stress fracture 5. Lower back pain (from shoveling snow!) 6. Wife and 3 kids. Perhaps we can give an award to the winner and the biggest whiner at the end of this thread. John Smith

  • I started back to swimming 3 years ago due to bad lower back pain caused by a broken tailbone. I was walking with a cane and could barely get out of the pool even with using the ladder. The first year I could not bend over enough to touch the block for starts let alone the pain of flip turns which I put up with. The second year I could touch the block but my back was still stiff and locked up and still very painful, but much better than the first year. This year I discovered Hyaluronic Acid, Noni and the WalkFit orthotics. Now I am almost pain free. I still lock up if I sit too long before an event so I have to do lots of warm ups and warm downs. I can also relate to all those with the heart palpatations. Have not had this happen though since the second to last 50 of my 1650 at Nationals. Just slowed down alittle and got more air and then was able to crank up the pace again. Donna
