Whining - Comparing Aches and Pains

I propose a thread honoring old age in which each person lists their current physical ailments and general excuses that prevent them from beating people like Paul Smith and Rich Saeger. I will lead with a growing list of my own. 1. Shoulder pain 2. Heart palpatations 3. High cholesterol 4. Left hip stress fracture 5. Lower back pain (from shoveling snow!) 6. Wife and 3 kids. Perhaps we can give an award to the winner and the biggest whiner at the end of this thread. John Smith

Hi Beth! I just hope to make you smile - or at least laugh at my poor poetry! I'm thinking of you and your family. :) Ode to Beth McGee I’m scared and I’m hesitant. I just have to pee. It’s my first day of practice when I meet Ms. McGee Her welcoming smile, kind gestures, and glee Unlock Masters’ secrets with her skeleton key I whine and I moan; claim the insanity plea But she urges the team along to our highest degree Her instinct; her kindness; her skill; “jois de vis” Have gained her one more life devotee No matter time passed or separation by sea She’s always a friend. That’s her guarantee Fast forward years later to a meet with entry fee I encounter a small package of T.N.T Eying the roster I see “:53” Why, who is this woman that’s faster than me? Of course, it’s none other than THE Beth McGee I glance at her strength, her stature, esprit To top it all off she’s now age forty-three! We’re up on the block to swim 100 free And just after the dive I’m back by her knee! I’m left in her wake; a defeated Robert E. Lee But her smile and hug are fully congratulatory I hope I’ve convinced you. I think we agree There’s no one, but no one who’s like Beth McGee It’s an honor to be an (extended) part of her family tree!
