I propose a thread honoring old age in which each person lists their current physical ailments and general excuses that prevent them from beating people like Paul Smith and Rich Saeger.
I will lead with a growing list of my own.
1. Shoulder pain
2. Heart palpatations
3. High cholesterol
4. Left hip stress fracture
5. Lower back pain (from shoveling snow!)
6. Wife and 3 kids.
Perhaps we can give an award to the winner and the biggest whiner at the end of this thread.

I'm 65 pounds over weight (meaning I was 65 pounds lighter the last time I swam in a USMS competition which was SCY Nats in 2005) ....I don't know how it happened exactly....it was kinda like that gum chewing girl, Violet from Willie Wonka when she chewed the wrong gum....overnight I blew up into a giant dodgeball with a head, arms, and legs attached (only its not purple thank God...LOL!!). I have been swimming 3 times a week for a couple of months now and I haven't lost a single pound....I'm starting to think that I am actually going to have to ....wait a second this is a hard word to say....gulp..."diet" or something. There I said it.
Oh yaeh, I have a bum knee as well....and a wife with one kid (does that last one count?)
