Anyone had surgery to correct a deviated septum?
How long were you out of the h2o?
Is it harder to regulate your exhalation on face-up SDK's than it was before?
I had septoplasty and my tonsils removed and excess throat tissue removed in March 04. I was only out of the water 2 or 3 weeks. And I swam in SC nationals in Indy the next month. I did have some sleep apnea, and that's the only reason I could get the insurance to pay for it (and it still took a 6-month argument with them to get it). It was not a lot of fun immediately afterward. Had to breathe through my mouth because my nose was packed with both cotton and splints. Breathing through your mouth when you've just had your tonsils removed does not feel good. But after about a week I quit feeling like I'd been hit by a truck, and it's been totally worth it. It has vastly improved my allergies and I sleep a lot better because I'm not waking myself up snoring every night!
