Reccomendations for swimsuit detergent?

Wow, my swimsuit reeks! What are the reccomended swimsuit detergents? I've noticed a couple but never thought I'd need 'em. Two-a-days are stinking up my suit and locker. :agree:
  • Just rinse your suit out well in cold water, and if you are doing doubles invest in another suit or two ... polyester would be a good choice ... rinse the suit and let it dry in an open area not in a closed in locker ... blech!
  • I wash mine in woolite every month or so in addition to the suggestions made above, which are good.
  • I never use detertgent on mine. Just rinse in clear water after each swim. When it begins to reek I soak it in a solution of cold water and baking soda and rinse it out real good. Having 2 suits and alternating them helps, too.

In the last 10 years of my swimming, I never once washed a suit. I did ensure that I allowed them to dry after every workout.

    1. stretch said suit around humanoid or highly advanced primate form. 2. swish gently (do not exceed 3.5 mph) for 75 - 120 minutes in 50,000 gallons of highly chlorinated water (hairballs and band-aids optional) 3. rinse with fresh (still chlorinated) water for 5 minutes. 4. *place on dashboard of fuel-efficient imported (but assembled in usa) automobile. 5. repeat as necessary *this will work north of the mason-dixon from march - november

dont worry about washing practice suits but a racing suit you should rinse with water after using to make it last longer.

Thanks for all the advice. Alternating is a pain. I have never washed a suit and kind of took some pride in watching it fade to an ugly grey. I might try rinsing it out. Thanks again.:agree:
  • Don't put your suit inside the locker. Put the lock through the legs of the suit and let the suit hang outside the locker. It will dry much better that way.
