Cute kid! It's been cold all over the west the last few days. Temps haven't managed to get more than a couple degrees over freezing here for several days. My parents in San Diego said some places down there got frost.
I remember Santa Clara being cold for early warmup at nationals but not quite that cold. At least it's outside and not in some dark damp bubble. Hope she had a great time.
Thanks for all of the kind words. She just started swimming this past summer so for her to get a B time in her 50 Free made her pretty happy...me too!
The water buckets they were using to hold the EZ UPS down were frozen over in the morning and water dripping from swimmers onto the concrete was freezing in some places, creating slippery conditions. The cold on it's own was one thing but the wind that came with it was downright brutal, especially on Sunday. There were non stop warnings over the PA about preventing hypothermia and for parents of younger swimmers to keep them bundled up.
In the end, we all had a great time.
It was insanely cold and windy for an outdoor meet...30 F in the AM and about 50 in the sun at noon! Through this adversity she managed to take time off of her PB in each event and scored a B time in her 50 Free.
That's awesome!
The cold isn't much fun. If that pool were here we could go ice skating.
Hey, is that blue sky I see! I remember that color. Too bad we only see it in the summer. It's been warm and gray around here. Keep in mind warm this time of year means 40 for a high. Cute daughter. I hope she didn't get too cold. I remember, as an age grouper, swimming in the snow for one meet. We shuffled around the deck for warm up as the water was too cold.
Thank You.
She is 7.
So cute! And happy. I love that age. Unconditional love. She's worth missing every workout you miss!
You should use her as your avatar instead of that palm tree. That's what I always do with my kids. It's never me swimming that breaststroke.
