Hey So, I am kind of new on here, I've been here for a month or so, but I still feel new here, I do not know anyone, and no one knows me! I am sure there are other people on here who are newer as well, and would like to meet all you long time members:-D So I propose we start a thread just introducing yourself and maybe saying a thing or two about yourself, where your from, what you swim, whatever information you would like to share with the group:wave: Hopefully, this isn't a completely lame idea?

  • I'm 47, married to my wonderful wife Laura now for 13 years (we met at our college swimming alumni meet)....no kids but presently one spoiled dog (Jake). Started out playing water polo as a softmore in high school after losing a bet with my best friend (who was on the team). Liked it so much stayed around and swam for the team as well.... Ended up ditching my first love/sport (showing horses) not long after I started swimming.....partly beacuse I grew so fast (5'10 as a freshman, 6' 5" as a senior) I outgrew my jumper! Walked on at UCSB and had a little success and a great time. Finished up my masters in clinical psycology and wanted to teach and go into private practice but ended up taking a few months off between my MA and entering the PhD program to ski in Vail....23 years later still here! Stopped swimming in 1985....took up the "mountain life"; kayking, climbing, skiing, biking, etc.....but got back into masters in 2002....two shoulder surgeries and two knee surgeries later I'm trying to stay ahead of the youngsters as long as I can....!
