Bungee Cords For Goggles - Pros/Cons?

I was thinking about getting one of those bungee cords for my goggles, but I'm not too sure... they look like they may easily slip off during a dive... but I'd love to hear some pros and cons about them from people who have used them in the past. I recently switched to Nike Remoras (from Sweedes)... and I'm loving it! Thanks.
  • I use a bungee to replace the original straps when they break and they work really good. I think they are better than the originals.

I swear by the bungee cords for meets. I have a practice pair of googles and a meet pair, because I use perscription googles so I have one pair that is a cheaper model and the better/expensive one is my meet pair. I only use the bungee on the meet googles this time around, just because the original straps on my practice googles are fine for now. I have never lost my googles with the bungee cord in a meet dive situation. They are super easy to tighten if your paranoid behind the block as I am...you can make them so tight that your eyes feel like the cords wrapped right around them! :-)....the only con isnt really valid, but i hate when i tighten them behind the blocks and the straps get to be two different lengths...then I have to take them off and fix that...but thats just because im like OCD with that kinda thing haha.

It's super easy to tighten your goggles if you need to but I haven't had to tighten them since I got it, and I've had no trouble on dives at all ... I've had my goggles slip once and that was without the bungee cord, since using it they have never even slipped. I think it's a lot more comfortable.
  • I have a big head and the bungees aren't long enough so they're tight as hell. hurts like no-body's business for a full workout, but for a race, no problom mon. :joker:

I've tried bungees before, but I'm fond of TYR silicone straps.
