I've had that issue. The solution is polyester, I have 3 of them now. A Speedo Endurance and 2 Dolfin Polyester suits. They last so much longer. I love my endurance jammers...they've faded up the seam but that's it. I got some lycra race ones too...not worn them yet.

Polyester rocks! It took me a while to convert, but it is the only way to go for a workout suit. The only problem I have with them is they last TOO long! I am addicted to buying new suits--like different colors, patterns, whatever. The poly suits don't wear out, so I can't buy new ones as often! (Well, I can, but I have to hide them in a drawer so my hubby doesn't see them all at once:laugh2: .) To those complaining of "coverage" issues... Some of the recent, but older Speedo designs had a back design on the female suit that caused some creepage issues. The "suit wedgie" is quite uncomforable, but a solution was discovered by some of the age-groupers I swim with. One day I was complaining about being indecent in the pool and one of the girls took out a pair of scissors and cut the back of the suit out! It was a little scary at the time, but it solved the wedgie problem:applaud: ! It only works on the suits with the thin straps & the old fly-back design. The straps do not criss-cross in the back. They are attached about 1.5 inches apart to another band of trim. There is patterned material below this leading to the oval back opeining. WARNING--Only cut in areas sealed by trim! Start at the side where the back meets the front & cut along the trim line BELOW the strap attachment to the other side. You will end up with a piece of material that looks a bit like this } . The strap & back attachment become just the narrow piece of trim that makes up the shoulder strap. Since there is very little material on the back (think the new Flip-turns design suits), it opens up the top a little & eliminates the wedgie pull. It also makes a toned back look awesome!

I will probably NOT, however, yell out across the pool to the older ladies in my classes that their suit is completely ripped in the butt! Aw Carrie, where's your sense of adventure? :laugh2: I am usually going to or from Mini-me's lesson when I see the woman at our pool. I'll see if I can get her attention, but I can't wait around for her to get out. We use the family locker room so I won't see her there either.

I Agree With The Endurance Suits Lasting Forever - I Got Tried Of One Of Mine Long Before It Gave Out. The Recommendation To Try It On Is Best - I Always Want To Buy The Cute Pretty Designed Thin Straps Ones Til I Try A Few Strokes Of Back Stroke In The Dressing Room, And See The "fallout" First Hand...thick Straps Seem To Quate To More Coverage, Just Wish There Were More Prints To Choose From. I Also Swtiched To Polyester After An Incident With A Lyric Suit In Which One Of My Male Team Mates Made It Clear With His Non Verbals That The Material In The Front Of My Suit Had Worn Out...his Eyes Drifted Down And Then Whipped Back Up And Never Left My Face The Rest Of The Practice - I Was Mortified When I Got In The Locker Room....and Gentleman That He Is, He Has Never Mentioned It.

and Gentleman That He Is, He Has Never Mentioned It. Of course not he'd hate to have you run off to change in embarrassment. He spared your feelings ;) Nobody will believe me but if I "knew" you as a team mate or someone I said hi to at the pool I would tell you. I hate distractions at training.

That is very kind of you Swimstud - at 48 to be consider any type of distraction is a round a bout compliment....I think.

Alison, I love my EQ suits too! I discovered them when I was looking for a maternity racing style suit. Speedo had one, but it was only available in the UK. Then someone told me about EQ. :applaud: It looks just like a Speedo SuperPro Back and was SO comfy . . . and yes, it stayed put. I liked it so much I ordered a regular suit after Mini-me arrived. :) They have polyester too, but I haven't tried one. My only complaint is the waiting. I tend to be impulsive, so if I want a new suit NOW, ordering doesn't work for me.

They might have a "where to buy" link on their site, but I don't remember. If you have questions, give them a call. I wasn't sure about sizing (never having worn a maternity racing suit :p), so I called. She was very friendly & helpful with the sizing - my suit was a great fit. I got it at about 4 or 5 mo and wore it right up to the end. to whoever invented lycra.
