The polyester suits are so nice for longevity, but yeah, the fit is tough. They're just not forgiving (for putting on) and then compressing (once on) like a lycra suit would be. All the brands seem to fit a little differently and your lycra suit size will not necessarily be the same size for the polyester. Best advice is make sure you try on polyester suits!!
I've been a subscriber to the 'two old suits equals one new suit' philosophy. But I draw the line when the lycra suit disintegrates and leaves those lycra pills all over your body. Ewwwww.
And yeah, Wren, I haven't yet figured out the polite way to let someone know their suit is shot. I teach water aerobics (yes, with noodles even!!) and the dead-suit effect is quite common. Especially the no-butt look (I compulsively check the opacity of my suits because of this.) Would welcome any ideas from the forum...
