Well, it's that time. End of another year spent overweight and out of shape. I'm done with this body. Time to go back into the pool. This time I will stick with it. Gonna follow the "zero-to-1 mile in 6 weeks" plan and go from there. Hard to believe I was an "A" swimmer circa 1983. :D
Wish me luck....
As I struggled to get up this morning I thought of something that motivated me...
Slimy - I have been getting up at 4:45 am for at least 10 years most week days. Unless I am up all night because of work (not all that often), every day that I work (we have a real nice gym at work) and sometimes even when I am off, I work out. I am now swimming instead of going to the gym three days a week, but I digress....:blah: Even though I am naturally a morning person:coffee: , I do enjoy my sleep:snore: . I have realized that if I do not work out first thing in the morning:banana: , and that means getting up 'before God does':D , I will either get too busy at work to work out during lunch:( , or if I wait until after work, I talk myself out of it (as much as I love working out, I am real good at making excuses if I leave it to later in the day:frustrated: ). I know if I get up early, I am already up and since there is nothing else to do that early, I either swim (three days a week), or go the gym. When I first started doing this, I would think, "I'll just sleep in today only". But I knew if I did that even just once, it would be much easier to do it the next day, and pretty soon I will morph back into someone who does not work out  and I would not feel good about that!:(
