Well, it's that time. End of another year spent overweight and out of shape. I'm done with this body. Time to go back into the pool. This time I will stick with it. Gonna follow the "zero-to-1 mile in 6 weeks" plan and go from there. Hard to believe I was an "A" swimmer circa 1983. :D

My most difficult thing is to convince myself that a day of rest is a GOOD thing! I need some :help: from you guys to encourage me to take one day off a week -- I am (and have been for a very long time) OBSESSED about these things!
I hate rest days. I begin to imagine that I am becoming unfit. I really hate a major interruption of training. That's why I'm an ogre right now. But everyone once in awhile you need some quality rest to let your body recover or to keep improving performance. Gotta rest if you're tapering ... 1 day off a week is a good plan n general.
