Well, it's that time. End of another year spent overweight and out of shape. I'm done with this body. Time to go back into the pool. This time I will stick with it. Gonna follow the "zero-to-1 mile in 6 weeks" plan and go from there. Hard to believe I was an "A" swimmer circa 1983. :D
Wish me luck....

I like it... the Mile High Club. :)
After that first workout, my triceps and back were SORE. In all the previous times when I got back in the pool after a hiatus, I was never this sore. I'm sure that's because I was resting far too long between sets. The 0 to 1650 plan only has me resting for a few breaths, which is good. It forces me to work harder.
This morning went a little better. I can already tell my strength has improved.
My new dilemma... a new suit. I wear these nylon gym shorts with mesh pockets and they are kind of baggy. I haven't worn a real swim suit in ages. Anybody recommend something for a big guy? I wouldn't exactly look real good in lycra right now. :D But, the shorts I wear give me a lot of drag, which I suppose is good for me but I don't want too much drag preventing me from reaching my goals.
